Stock Risk Analysis

Review downside, sizing and concentration before a trade

The pre-trade risk scan is a Pro decision-support workflow. It evaluates only the risk fields returned by HPSILab, including modeled ranges, the stock's own risk against the SPY benchmark, sizing checks, and concentration and correlation against a watchlist when available.

Modeled downside range

The 90% range frames modeled downside and upside around the expected outcome. It is not a maximum-loss guarantee.

Stock vs SPY benchmark

Volatility, beta, 1-day VaR and 1-year max drawdown of the stock on its own, next to the same metrics for SPY over the same window. This compares two securities; it is not the risk of a portfolio before or after the trade.

Sizing and concentration checks

Pass, warning and failure statuses summarize explicit API thresholds. Correlation and concentration are measured against a watchlist treated as equal-weight, not against your actual holdings.

Frequently asked questions

Is a pre-trade scan a buy or sell signal?

No. It is a risk review designed to support position and exposure decisions.

Does the 90% range cap losses?

No. Markets can move outside modeled ranges, especially during gaps, liquidity stress or regime changes.

Why is this tool Pro?

Live scans run the same risk engine on any supported ticker and add concentration and correlation against your own watchlist, on eligible HPSILab plans.

Research only. HPSILab tools provide quantitative information and model outputs, not investment advice. Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong.
